Victims' Initials and Their Values

The Freedom Phantom’s victims consist of children and young adults.

The first Freeway Phantom victim was a child, Carol Spinks. The killer’s next victim was Darlenia Johnson, a young adult. The third and fourth victims were two more children, Crockett and Yates, while the final victims were Woodard and Willians, two adults.

The killer arranged his attacks to showcase the difference in his victims and to produce more of his 2:1 patterns.

The Freeway Phantom used his victims’ initials to reaffirm the existence of children and adults amongst his victims and to show he did not choose his victims at random.

He assigned values to the initials of his victims based on their position in the alphabet and chose his victims so that the total of the first initials of the children would equal the first child’s second initial. Similarly, he chose adult victims whose first initials equalled the first adult’s second initial. The tables below show these relationships.
